Just before half-term the Department of Education informed school leaders that two additional development days should be taken in readiness for a change to the Northern Ireland curriculum that will be implemented from September 2026.
School leaders were directed to identify one date before Easter and one date after Easter but my priority is to ensure our school operates with minimal disruption.
One date we can confirm will be Tuesday 5th May 2026. School will be closed on this date.
For the second date we asked parents to share their preference between two dates - the options were Wednesday 18th March or Monday 20th April.
A total of 147 votes were provided with a 80% vote in favour of Monday 20th April. School will be closed on this date as well.
