SUSTRANS 'Ditch the Stabilisers'

A cold Monday morning in March saw a number of eager beavers from Primary 1 kitted out in their bicycle helmets ready for a morning's training on their bicycles.  The children had had their stabilisers and pedals removed in preparation for learning to balance. 

Following the instructions carefully, the children were very close to cycling on 2 wheels after only an hour of instruction.  The instructor followed up with some guidance for parents to use at home - we hear this has been a success and there is even video evidence on the school Facebook page!

A huge accomplishment - we want to thank SUSTRANS for the opportunity to complete this course with the children and we hope that even more children are able to avail of it again in the future.
