School Closed Today

WEATHER UPDATE:

Looking out the window this morning there appears to be a slight improvement in conditions however we will be CLOSED today for two main reasons.

Firstly, whilst only a limited number of our staff have to travel longer distances and live in areas that are worse affected than Newtownards, some would have been missing today. Whilst this would have been manageable, unfortunately this means we would be unable to provide school dinners or breakfast this morning and school would have been forced to close at 12pm.

Secondly, and more critically, there has been a change in the weather forecast and snow is now predicted in Newtownards from 7am until 9am. We all want to avoid a repeat of the situation we faced earlier in the year when we had to close early. Given how treacherous conditions were last night it would be a risk to be travelling at this time.

Chuckles will be closed as well.

We are hoping to be able to facilitate School’s Out from midday but they will not be open this morning. Further information will be provided later this morning via our website and social media as well as by getting in touch with Susie from 11am.
