Pupils in Key Stage 2 have been taking part in a 10 week pilot project organised by Queen's University Belfast and CCEA to help children improve their reading skills.
Pupils in Mr Gibson's P5/6 class have paired up with pupils in Mrs Turtle's P7 class and each partnership has the opportunity to read together, enjoy a text of their choosing, discuss authors, enhance motivation and improve their communication skills.
This 10 week programme got underway earlier this month and already it is clear that the children's enthusiasm for reading is growing from week to week in both fact and fiction books.
