Today our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a fantastic and meaningful visit to Clandeboye Estate as part of the Somme Education Programme with St Finian’s Primary School.
The day began with a warm welcome before pupils took part in a series of engaging, hands-on sessions. These included a fascinating World War One talk in a bell tent, exploring the experiences of local people, as well as interactive WW1 toys and games and a nature and teamwork activity set within the beautiful grounds of the estate.
The pupils rotated through each session, building their knowledge, developing teamwork skills, and deepening their understanding of history in a fun and memorable way.
After lunch, the day concluded with a closing session where pupils reflected on what they had learned and shared their thoughts.
It was a brilliant opportunity to bring classroom learning to life, and the children represented our school wonderfully throughout the day 👏
