P6 as part of their Vikings topic headed to North Down Museum this week for a very informative trip. The children had the opportunity to complete three different activities- a visit to a longhouse where they learnt all about daily Viking life and jobs that they would have carried out, as well as the chance to see a range of Viking weapons and artefacts. They also got the chance to learn about the famous Ballyholme brooches and create their own using clay and the also visited the Discovery Room unearthing artefacts and learning the difference between archaeology and paleontology- solving clues, digging and measuring and weighing artefacts.
