The children in P5G thoroughly enjoyed their second session of the Growing Club, run by Ards and North Down Borough Council. We were delighted to welcome one of the council helpers, Helen, who is also the mum of Logan in P7, and who kindly came along to support the session.
The children had previously prepared the raised bed, and this week they began sowing a variety of seeds. They also took part in a bug hunt, where they identified a wide range of species. To top it all off, the children had the opportunity to build bug hotels, which have been hung in trees near the raised bed to encourage vital pollinators to the area.
Everyone enjoyed a fantastic few hours learning outdoors and is already looking forward to the next session.
