P4 Visit Scrabo

1st Oct 2021

On Wednesday 29th September the P4s visited Scrabo Tower and Killynether Wood. It was a beautiful morning and the children were so excited to be going on a school trip again since the outbreak of the Covid virus.

We learnt how old Scrabo Tower was and why it was built. We spotted other local landmarks from Scrabo Hill -  such as Island Hill, Strangford Lough, Belfast and the Mourne Mountains.

We then visited Killynether Wood where we identified tress by looking at their leaves. We spotted poisonous fungus and saw badger setts.

What a beautiful morning and a great way to learn about our locality. We hope you enjoy the photographs.
