Girl footballers come third in their first league

20th Apr 2026
The girls played a competitive final league match against the Strandtown Jaguars, who went on to become league winners. From the first pass, our team showed great energy and effort, with all the girls playing at their best.

The communication on the pitch was excellent and the girls worked well together, making some lovely quick passes and encouraging each other throughout the game. It was a very even match that could have gone either way, and while it wasn’t our day, the girls can be so proud of their performance in a narrow 4–2 loss. It truly didn’t feel like a defeat.

The team finished an impressive 3rd place in our first ever league, which is a fantastic achievement. We now look ahead to going back to Strandtown on 15th May, when the girls will face Braniel PS on Cup Finals Day.

A special mention goes to our Player of the Match, Willow, who worked incredibly hard in goals and made several excellent close-range saves.

Well done to all the girls for their effort, teamwork and positive attitude. A great performance to be proud of!!
