Cross Country ~ Round 2

On Tuesday 6th November the cross-country teams from Castle Gardens took part in Round 2 of the Flavahans league at the Henry Jones playing fields in Castlereagh. 

The girls team were first to tackle the 1200m course in wet and blustery conditions. First home for Castle Gardens was Lucy Rankin from P6 in 6 minutes 3 seconds, closely followed by Clara Stanfield in 6 min 7 seconds. Overall the girls team finished in 14th position.  

The star performer on the boys team came from Toby Saunders in P5 who finished in 30th position out of over 130 runners in a time of 5 minutes 2 seconds.

 The boys, featuring several P5 pupils finished in 11th place out of 17 schools. 

Both teams would like to thank Mr Irvine for donating the new running vest for them to wear. 

The teams were: 

Lexie Saunders, McKyla Richardson, Zara Irvine, Rhianna McFeeters, Lauren Dempster, Clara Stanfield and Lucy Rankin. 

Perri McNaught, Regan Moss, Ethan Paul, Darryl Palmer, Lewis Paul, Harbey Wooldridge, Joshua Finlay and Toby Saunders.
