The boys cross country team took part in the second round of the Flahavan’s League this morning as they made the long journey to a wintry Donard Park in Newcastle.
Running a hilly 1400m course the team of 8 boys from P6 and P7 finished 4th overall our of 17 schools, narrowly missing out on qualification for the NI finals in January.
Elijah Graham led the boys home in 14th place with Ben Scandrett next home in 23rd having completed three quarters of the course with only one shoe!
Out of 126 competitors Toby Saunders (25th), Jack Magowan (45th), Eddie Kirwan (50th), Zach Johnson (51st) and Hadyn Young (81st) all contributed points to the team score with strong finishes.
This was a fantastic effort by all the pupils who dug deep on a challenging course and had a great morning. Thanks to Mrs Scandrett and Mr Kirwan for assisting as well.
