Another opportunity for our girls football team

24th Apr 2026
The girls put in a fantastic performance in Tuesday’s friendly tournament, showing great teamwork, energy and encouragement throughout.

They got off to a flying start with a brilliant 4–0 win against Millisle with goals from Avery, Phoebe, Amera and Sophie. This was followed by a deserved 2–1 victory over Brooklands, where the team showed great character to come from 1–0 down, with Phoebe and Sofia finding the net to put us in front.

The game against Comber ended in a narrow 3–2 defeat, despite a strong performance. The girls created some chances and on another day, the result could easily have gone in our favour, with Sophie and Amera getting on the scoresheet.

They finished on a high with an outstanding 5–0 win over Ballywalter. Ria, Kayleigh, Phoebe (x2), and Sophie all scored in a confident and composed performance.

Although it was a friendly tournament, the girls would have come out on top on goal difference—an impressive achievement. More importantly, they supported one another brilliantly, with all of the girls encouraging and helping those who were trying football for the first time.

Well done girls! ⚽👏
