P7 have just started a series of 6 sessions being run by Action Mental Health, which are part of the OG project. The Our Generation Project (OG) is a Northern Ireland-wide and cross-border PEACEPLUS funded project that will deliver a wide range of programmes to children and young people between the ages of 9-25 years within schools, youth & community groups. Action Mental Health, along with eight other partners across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, seek to build peace through improved mental health and emotional wellbeing.
These sessions are interactive, generating learning through group discussions, individual exercises, team challenges and various usage of multimedia for engagement and catering for all learning styles. There will be a joint session where P7 pupils from Castle Gardens will be working with St. Malachy's in Bangor. Hopefully these sessions will prove very beneficial to our pupils and help prepare them well for life beyond Castle Gardens. Below are a few pictures from our first session on Monday morning.
